This 3B Scientific® pathological model shows two different stages of inflammation of the gastric mucosa (= gastritis), from mild gastric ulcer to gastric perforation. The section of the stomach with insertion of the esophagus and duodenum (Scale 1/2) shows the following pathological changes:
• erythematous gastritis
• erosive gastritis
• hemorrhagic gastritis
• stage of healing with formation of scars
• atrophic gastritis
• hypertrophic gastritis
• bleeding ulcer
• perforated ulcer
Another model in relief presents an enlargement of the gastric wall with in particular:
• healthy mucosa
• acute gastritis in the antrum region
• erosive gastritis with mucosal abnormalities
• bleeding ulcer (muscular mucosa destroyed)
• perforated ulcer (all mucosal layers are destroyed)
